Hello! My name is Norbert Bader. I am a post doctoral researcher currently working at the Institute of Machine Design and Tribology of Leibniz University Hannover. My main research focus is in the field of Tribology and concerned with the study of lubricant behaviour in moving contacts of machine elements.

Especially the high pressure rheology of lubricants in highly loaded non-conforming contacts, that is elastohydrodynamic lubricated contacts (EHL), forms the basis of my research. This was also the topic of my PhD thesis entitled Traction in EHL-Contacts – the influence of local fluid rheology and temperatures (https://doi.org/10.15488/4459) written with Prof. Dr.-Ing. G. Poll as supervisor.

Further areas of ongoing work are the behaviour of grease in EHL contacts, the electrical behaviour of lubricants in highly loaded contacts, simulation of lubrication problems, and measurment techniques to determine fluid properties at high pressures and temperatures.

On this webpage I hope to introduce some interesting topics and let other people participate in this exciting field.
